Challenge

How can the calendar be used as a means to educate people about climate change, and in what way can it be approached differently?

Solution

Rather than dwelling on the negative consequences of human destruction, our visual approach envisioned an idyllic world that could only come to fruition if we all joined forces to reverse climate change. And in a tale about nature, what best to illustrate it than with nature itself?

A story for nature, by nature, using digital collage as art direction.

  • 01The process of weaving this calendar encompassed venturing into the heart of nature, and scouring the land to find the perfect leaves, flowers, seeds, and branches.
  • 02These elements were then individually captured and subjected to photographic treatment.
  • 03Inspired by the depths of the oceans, the tranquil rivers, verdant canopies, and lush forest floors, our designers took these individual components and transformed them into 3D compositions, shadows and lights becoming their brushes.
  • 01Educating through optimism, breathing life into each element through the design process, leaves transformed into a majestic turtle, seeds became a tireless colony of ants, and flowers gave flight to magnificent butterflies.
Results

This calendar reaches employees of major companies in Mauritius, thus becoming a crucial reminder of the ecological challenges to be addressed. And if even just one person gains insight from this calendar and implements a positive change in their daily life, it inspires hope for the future. Thus, as it graced 28.000 desks and walls across Mauritius, this calendar wields significant influence, the power to awaken a profound sense of responsibility towards the environment.
